Reporting to the Geelong Maintenance & Reliability Manager you will be responsible for interpreting technical standards and developing/reviewing strategies to provide key plant performance advice and engineering technical support on rotating and static equipment to the Geelong SSP Operations. You will ensure mechanical equipment is operated and maintained to a standard that ensures safe and cost-effective operation and continuing production capability. As a critical advisor within the Maintenance Team the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer will monitor performance, champion change and instigate and manage improvement projects with an emphasis on increasing uptime and eliminating defects.
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience to meet IEAust Chartered Professional Engineer status is required. With strong computer skills you will be recognised for your well-developed leadership and communication skills and proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your experience will include:
- Understanding of RBM and RCM strategy development.
- Competency in the various methods of Root Cause Failure Analysis and incident investigation (e.g. ICAMS).
- Familiarity with manufacturing excellence models, systems and processes relating to asset capability and reliability as well as lean manufacturing.
- Risk identification, analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with Safety, Quality and Turnaround Management Systems.
- Proven trouble-shooting and project delivery skills.
- Ability in optimising reliability (e.g. reducing failure rates, increasing uptime)
- Understanding of statistical analysis of failure data (e.g. uptime, weibull analysis).
