We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Automation Services Leader in our Central Engineering Department’s Electrical Services team. Reporting to the Electrical Services Manager and as a member of the Electrical Services Lead Team, the role contributes towards maximising the economic value and long-term sustainability of the Whyalla steelworks automation systems assets. The key objective of this position is to contribute to the business success across Whyalla steelworks through development and application of automation strategies & standards. This role will provide plant and equipment automation strategies to meet departmental business plans: specifically automation security, SCADA/ HMI, PLC, variable speed drives, soft starters and OT network infrastructure. While ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality control plans and standards; this role is key in improving the condition and productive capacity of the Whyalla steelworks through automation business improvements and asset management ensuring throughput and conversion cost targets are realised.
To be considered for this position, you will ideally have relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and substantial maintenance & project management experience gained within heavy manufacturing environment. You will have sound understanding of ISA95 standards, network architecture, level 0-2 automation systems and a proven track record in identifying and understanding key drivers in complex manufacturing environments while managing significant budgets. With well-developed communication and leadership skills, you will have demonstrable experience in engaging and building relationships to ensure understanding and focus is maintained on the key drivers.
