Arts and Heritage Hub Director
Reference no 437
Full time, three year contract
The Adelaide Hills Council is a magnificent place to live, work and visit. The environmental, residential, primary production and natural qualities of the district are renowned and contribute to the Adelaide Hills being "a special place" and one of Australia's most loved areas. Adelaide Hills Council is committed to building the community through leadership, community involvement and commitment to service.
This new position presents a unique opportunity for an experienced and creative individual to lead the establishment and development of an arts and heritage hub at the historic former Onkaparinga Woollen Mill site in Lobethal.
The arts and heritage hub is an exciting initiative that will generate social, educational and economic outcomes for the region. With a mix of formal and informal gallery spaces, it will provide a space for locals and visitors to enjoy professional and community based arts experiences and celebrate local history and indigenous culture. Studio spaces will offer established and emerging artists a place to create work, grow their creative business and collaborate with others. In addition, a heritage installation will showcase the stories of the former woollen mill and its workers.
You will have experience working in or with cultural facilities and be well connected in the arts and/or heritage communities. You will have good business acumen which lends itself to operating a facility and running programs sustainably. You will know how to measure and monitor the success of cultural facilities. Experience attracting grant funding is essential.
This is a prescribed position. As part of Council’s Safe Environments Policy, a current child related employment screening assessment (within the last 12 months) is essential (or be willing to undertake).
